Geologist Don Applebee passes

Donald J. Applebee Jr., geologist and former President of the Arizona Geological Society passed away suddenly on 27 May 2019. Don was a long-time geologist for ASARCO. He  was born on 15 Feb. 1958 in Erie, PA, where he grew up. Don was a well known and well respected member of the southern Arizona mining community. 

A celebration of Don's life will take place at Scordato’s Pizzeria in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 1:00 –4:00 p.m. Sarah Baxter and Ashley Applebee wish invite all members who wish to come by and share your memories of Don and celebrate his love of Minerals, Geology, Mining, and Arizona.
